Before becoming a Child and Educational Psychologist, I went to America and worked at the Eden Institute School, an organisation that provides education, training and homes for autistic children, young people and adults. On my return to England, I completed my PGCE and taught in a middle school in London.

After working there for two years, I worked as a SENCo in The British International School in Jakarta where I further developed my interests in photography, diving and travel. I then moved to Kent and resumed teaching, this time working with young people who found school challenging.

I completed my Masters in Educational Psychology at University College London in 1997. As an Educational Psychologist I have been able to continue to develop my interests and I have been involved in a range of training and initiatives that have shaped the way I work. These include working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and disrupted attachments, autism, challenges with literacy and numeracy acquisition, regulating emotions and supporting well-being.

I initially trained in Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) in 2008 and I am now a practitioner and supervisor. I completed my Doctorate in Child and Educational Psychology in 2017 at The Tavistock and my thesis was based upon using VIG with foster-carers to enhance effective relationships and interactions.
I am registered with the HCPC and I have an Enhanced DBS check.
